Quick and Easy Tips to add Holiday Cheer through your Christmas Trees

It’s that time of year again! I’m so excited to be part of a group of amazing and talented ladies who are all showing off their Christmas trees this week and today is my turn! For those of you who just came from Krista’s tour, welcome!

Christmas trees in our family always have a theme or tell stories. Our largest Christmas tree houses all of the ornaments my husband and I have collected since childhood. Every year we give our boys one ornament that signifies a big thing that happened to them that year. Though that tree never changes theme wise from year to year, I do like to add different ribbon and of course the new ornaments our boys get every year.

I like to scatter smaller trees throughout the house too. These are more specific to a theme. Both of my kids asked for trees in their rooms a few years back. Luckily my in laws brought us boxes of Paul’s things from when he was growing up. One box was full of old football and baseballs cards, pennants and sports pins. As luck would have it, my oldest loves football and my youngest loves baseball so it was a no brainer to design sports trees for them using their dad’s old sports memorabilia.

This year, in our bedroom, I decided to have a little fun. This glitzy gold tree didn’t need much more to dress it up. When discussing how I should decorate this beauty with my friendWillow, who owns the very best antique shop, we decided to use some vintage cocktail umbrellas that she had in her shop to use them as ornaments and then added a vintage bird, also from Urban Redeux ,as the tree topper.

Speaking of birds, its definitely become a theme this year after I spotted a bowl full of vintage bird ornament’s at Willow’s store. I decided to decorate our front entry way tree with those birds and added colorful, wooded ornaments and vintage foil bursts. This tree might be one of my all time favorites.
